The Black Shield of Falworth Review

How many of you have read the old classic book Men of Iron? I had no idea that it had been made into a movie, called The Black Shield of Falworth from 1954.

The movie of course is different from the book... but just a little. Myles has a sister in the movie, where in the book he does not. In the movie his father is dead and his goal is to become a knight to restore the family name. In the book his father is alive and to restore himself, sends his son Myles to work his way up from squire to knight to restore their lands and title.

But aside from those two things I found the movie stayed close to the book in many ways and was most enjoyable. So for all the Exmoor fans out there, If you ever come across this movie on the web or in your local library, pop some popcorn and enjoy!
